Tip: How to identify if your stainless steel cage is made of genuine 304 grade stainless steel?
Moisten a cotton stick with some nitric acid, and then apply some drops on the stainless steel. If there are black stains on it, wipe it with a cloth.
If the stains can be wiped off, that means it is a pure #304 stainless steel. If the stains can't be wiped off, it must be #204.
Because nitric acid is a strong oxidizing agent and corrosive inorganic acid. It is an important industrial chemical.
#204 stainless steel rusts within one year after leaving the factory.
